In 2019, the Colorado legislature passed, and the Governor signed, the National Popular Vote bill.
Opponents then circulated a "veto referendum" petition in Colorado. The effect of the petition was to call a statewide vote on the National Popular Vote bill as part of the November 2020 general election.
On November 3, 2020, Colorado became the first state in the country where voters approved the National Popular Vote at the ballot box. Click here for official election returns from the Colorado Secretary of state.
